The ‘historical’ collection of fossil invertebrates from Lower Palaeozoic deposits of the Bohemian Massif (Czeсh Republic) as an object of scientific and cultural heritage

چکیده

The years 2022 marks the 95th anniversary of foundation Geological Museum, predecessor Department Geology National Museum Natural History NAS Ukraine. However, origins its collections date back to 19th century. aim article is ancient regional paleontological collection, which consists fossil remains various systematic groups fauna and flora from Lower Palaeozoic Bohemian Massif (Czech Republic) stored under #582. Various aspects value, primarily scientific historical, were identified characterised. territory collection originates recognised as key in knowledge stratigraphy palaeontology Palaeozoic. temporal range fossils Middle Cambrian Devonian. Fossil collected 45 localities, 2 are Cambrian, 15 Ordovician, 16 Silurian, 12 two parts. first contains 545 specimens trilobite remains. Trilobites represented by all (11) currently known orders, 29 families, 105 genera, 140 species (138 according modern classification). second part 325 representatives other characteristic faunal Massif. This associated with trilobites eight phyla (cnidarians, arthropods, molluscs, bryozoans, brachiopods, echinoderms, semichordates, chordates) 23 classes. composition (non-trilobite) includes more than 100 (!) species. A catalogue demonstrating significant taxonomic diversity, has been compiled. owner was Mineralogical Cabinet St. Volodymyr Imperial University Kyiv, ‘the Silurian fossils’ amount 1051 arrived 1874 ‘from help Prof. Jan Krejčí’ purchase. an important scientific, educational, exhibitional, historical value.
